Are you getting a blank/off screen and have you a 3D L702x(with a 120hz 1080p screen). If so the issue you are having is common in this model(3D L702x) and has not been solved yet!!For some people they have temporarily resolved it by changing the refresh rate back to 60hz while not using 3D.But I'm afraid this has not been fully solved yet.

Ahh ok,if you are getting your usual startup/login screen with no action. This may be a different issue that myself  and many others are having with the waking from hibernation on the 3D systems. You don't need to change down to 16 bit either.Maybe you should try update your bios, graphic drivers, windows updates and also check your power settings.

Over the last few days it seems that the matter is cleared up, although it is hard to be certain.  Also, it is hard to be clear as to the reason, but it is possible that installing the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software may have played a role (keeping in mind that I have two Samsung Solid State Drives, on of which came with the computer.  This software was downloadable from the Dell website.  I don't know if it came with the computer and I deactivated it, or if I needed to install it new.

I just checked and it was already on 60 hz.  I set it down rom 32 bit to 16 bit.  Do you think that will help?  I guess we'll see.

Thanks, I do have a 3D version.  I am not getting any special screen.  I think I'm getting my usual login screen (my laptops are always passworded) or perhaps the regular windows desktop, but with no action.  I guess I'll see where I can change the refresh rate, that doesn't sound familiar.

Thanks, I will set it back up, as to the screen settings.

I will try to find an efficient way to check if I have the latest drivers for things, but offhand I am not sure how to do that.  I do have one factory-installed and one installed-by-me SSD, so I guess I can start there.

Do you have a crucial m4 ssd by any chance?I know there were lockup issues with the 0001 firmware,so if you have try upgrade to 0002,this solves the lockup issues.

No, unfortunately, I have the dell factory-installed 256 gb Samsung as my primary SSD, and then another Samsung 128 GB as my secondary.

I went to the Dell website for drivers and software downloads and installed what appears to be either a driver or software for my hard drives which ended up also installing or activating some sort of Intel Rapid Storage Technology software.  I don't know if that has done the trick, but so far I am not yet seeing freezing when coming out of hibernation.  If the stability continues I will try to remember to mark the suggestion about drivers as the answer.
