I had the same problem with green pixels on my u2311h and a DVI cable. This was caused by a poor connection between the cable and monitor and fixed by simply reinsert the cable properly into the monitor. I read about a similar problem and solution on the web. I suspect your problem is in your DVI cable or at the socket on the monitor. Suggest you try a new cable before RMA/
Yes I am using the DVI at full resolution 2560X1440, I have tried both of the DVI connectors on the monitor. I have a second lower resolution montior that is hooked up via the VGA port on the card and when I do get the flashing pixels and drag the window onto that display they do not follow. The flashing pixels do follow and stay in the same place while the window is being dragged on the U2711. The usually come once and then disappear, and don't return for a while??
I replaced the Video card, I was using an ATi HD4670, and I replaced it with a ATi HD6570 card and I have still seen the flashing pixels. It's a tough thing to trouble shoot, because 95% of the time they are not there?? I'm just wondering why they appear at all?? My next step will be to replace the DVI cable if the problem persists or gets worse. I have searched the net, and have found that flashing green pixels are more or less a common issue on some high res monitors, with the causes sometimes pointing to the cables, video cards, and some other brands of monitors.
I have been unable to find any complaints of this issue on a U2711, but if you have or could possibly suggest a next step that would be great!
Get the monitor replaced. If the replacement does the same thing, that tells us it is some other root cause. If you only have a monitor order number, you should contact Order Support. If your monitor was purchased tied to a Dell PC, contact Technical Support. They will need the following data - Email Address: Name: Shipping Address: Phone Number: Monitor Order number or PC Service Tag number: Monitor 20 digit PPID number: Reason: Troubleshooting Done:
Thanks... I will try a new DVI cable before I RMA the monitor for sure... I have already double checked the actual connections on the card and monitor and they seem fine.... The largest problem is it doesn't do it enough to properly troubleshoot it, so if will take me some time I think... Thanks again for your suggestion...
Just playing around on my computer and discovered my C: drive was badly fragmented (24%) I defraged it and now I am not having any more Flickering Green Pixels??? Does that even make sense to anyone?? Perhaps they will be back.??.. But as far as today goes, they are gone!!... Thought I would post this if it helps anyone else with a similar problem...
I had the same problem as Realblender with my Dell monitor. Re-seating the DVI cable solved it! No more flickering green pixels. Also, it's worth noting that I also thought my flickering pixels were following the video that I was streaming as I moved it around the screen, but upon closer inspection I realized that the pixels were flickering everywhere on the screen.

bellevilleguy.
Are you testing DVI at 2560x1440? Have you tested VGA at 2048x1152? What about DP (DisplayPort) at 2560x1440?
