DavidR, in the link above by control_tps, gave the answer.   I'll elaborate a bit more:

in your case, you had     c:\programfiles\alwil software\avast5\defs\10041401\filename

the 10041401 indicates the avast definitions from

     10 ===> 2010

        04 ===> April

           14 ====> 14th

               01 ====> the SECOND update issued that day... the count (first one) starts with 00.

with a subsequent update, these files will have been removed... hence, their "path" was not found.   In theory, this could have happened if you started a scan with the updates from "10041401", and while in the process of running that scan, avast automatically downloaded a newer version of its database.

you have nothing to worry about:

1) these files, being part of a daily avast update, were completely safe. and

2) the file [or path] not found means that it's no longer there... so even if it had been something malicious, it's already gone.
