11Mpbs is 802.11b max.  You cannot make 802.11b run at 802.11G speed.  IP Ping Fail is not a hardware issue.

You cannot "fix" that which is not broken.  You cannot have a feature in 802.11b that is not there.

You did not mention which model you have.   You could remove the internal 802.11b card and use an external Micro

USB 802.11n wireless.

Thanks SpeedStep.  I have the Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-card Rev 4.4 software version 4.170.25.12.   Most v ideos play in steps a second or two at a time. I think it definitely used to be faster.  So there is nothing I can do short of buying a new card?
