Two part answer here-

First, I received the replacement that I was told would already be updated but it wasn't updated. Still ran 2.2.2.. So I took a deep breath and went about searching for the update using the system and not waiting for it to tell me there was one available.

Second part is- I clicked the Settings icon and then About which has a link for updating the software built in- you don't have to hunt down the installer from Dell unless you are manually downgrading.

Clicking the option to search for an update will open the page that has been 'broken' all this time until the official release of 3.2. The Streak Wifi found the update and went about downloading and automatically installing without a hitch.  I'm not sure why this worked the second time around.  So all is well with HoneyComb right now- Netflix finally updated their official application in the app store so I can watch on a beautiful 7" display without he weight of the laptop.. Slingbox mobile still works and everything is snappier and wifi connections are definitely more robust.

You can try to manually update it, go to this site and follow the instructions on the how to update post: www.streakblog.blogspot.com

For those devices still not getting the update....Check this thread in the community here: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/mobile-devices/f/3824/t/19391686.aspx?PageIndex=11 , there are a couple of options there that actually work.... nice plug otnos- FAIL! Go to the source, you're better off.   Source for the link mentioned :  http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286295  Just be sure you are choosing the right version.

That still doesn't explain why some are getting the update and others are not- go to the fix, folks. and here's the info in the same forum here...   http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/mobile-devices/f/3824/p/19408152/19965104.aspx#19965104  by the way nice plug martin, but FAIL! to you too.

Just copy the file downloaded, rename it to update.pkg (same extension) and copy it to the root of the external SD card.

2. Turn off the device

3. press power on button and holding the + volume at the same time, don’t let them go, until a menu pops up, it will let you select update through SD card, it should be the second option.

4. Just follow the rest of the instructions and you are set.

Make sure the battery is full charged before starting the process, the Dell Streak 7 will reboot automatically when the installation is completed, and have fun with your Honeycomb tablet.

Seriously, it is that easy for specific devices- you're missing the whole point for many in this thread and other Streak 7 Wifi owners that bought their device at staples.  If you're still on Froyo and haven't seen the update, check the "Settings" > "About" and see what the version says.  If it is GLUNB1A133830, then the link you are being pointed to is http://mobileupdate.dell.com/?version=GLUNB1A133830 and that doesn't show an update.

The OTHER wifi devices are listed as GLUNB1A334430, these are receiving the update that is pointed at: http://mobileupdate.dell.com/?version=GLUNB1A334430

Not all that are trying to use the update.pkg from that version (as highlighted in your steps) are not working with the GLUNB1A133830  are having success with the "4 steps".  That is why the other information was posted from xda.

Hi, Being a Dell technician and dealing with this issue and solving the problems like this with streak, I mentioned the steps that are easy to perform and moreover official update says its for unlocked 4g and wifi streaks only. So one needs to make sure their device it the one out of it. Moreover Update is getting rolled out slowly. So it will take time for people to get update on version GLUNB1A133830. May be a week or so. As a test some might have got it but for all its going to be rolled out soon.

Well that's certainly nice of Dell to let those users know that they would also be getting the update for the other wifi-only version of GLUNB1A133830. Another great moment in providing information to customers. The 334430 and133830 wifi only devices should be identical in hardware, the differences in software should be minimal...interesting.  I've got HC on my 334430, but the concern is for the rest of the folks that are being "punished" for having a wifi-only device purchased from Staples.

I wonder if it was more regional then...was your device a GLUNB1A13383 version at the time?  I still know of a number of folks that never got the update working straight from the site or with the pkg update that are running that version...I'm curious if some of those that had issue earlier on in this thread got it hashed out.

I suppose I shouldn't give a darn because I've got mine updated....no big deal - I'll climb back under my rock and enjoy the shade...

I bought mine from Stapless. I don't think this is related top devices bought from them as I was able to update without issues.

I did the update as outlines in some of the threads, looking for the us wifi release, copy to the sd and updating.

I was under the impression all us wifi user could use the same method.

I was able, with the help of a Dell technician, to get the 3.2 upgrade about three weeks ago.  I'm happy for the most part, but every couple of days, for no particular reason, the Streak locks up.  I've done the paperclip restart a couple of times, but have discovered that plugging in the device and ignoring it for several hours will also bring it back to life.  Anyone else have a similar issue or know of a solution?

Same here.

Paper clip for me too.

Twice I've had to factory reset and re install because some applications failed to load after paper clip reset.

In one instance the wallpaper started to flicker like crazy.

So for me, not only lock ups, but 2 factory resets.

Hello, I also have GLUNB1A133830. It shows no updates available. If I direct my browser to http://mobileupdate.dell.com/?version=GLUNB1A334430

3.2 Android update does show up as available. My question is, can I just continue with the update and install 3.2 using the OTA assuming they are identical packages or are there differences between tablets versions that could cause problems?

That's what were talking about here...the "338"  - GLUNB1A133830 - isn't showing an update,though it is wifi only.

If your device is wifi-only, you should be able to use the update that is available and it should not cause issue.
If you can't get it to install...
Then you have 2 options- either use one of the alternate methods listed at the xda links posted earlier
OR
you'll just have to wait to see if it evens comes  for the "338".

People are talking about how they bought the GLUNB1A133830 from stables and have not got the update. I have the 33830 but I bought mine directly from dell when I purchased a laptom. I havent recieved an update.
