okay on this laptop you've got 2 Video cards first one the Intel HD 3000 and the NVIDIA GT 525M, now I looked into the Intel one and i found out it doesnt support any additional monitors, so here is what you have to do : -
********* ( I recommend to update your NVIDIA drivers from the following link)****************
now try to hook up your laptop to your TV via HDMI if it didn't work then follow the steps below
1) right click on your desktop and click on screen resolution.
2) click on connect to a project.
3) Pick duplicated.
4) hook up your HDMI cable to your TV then to your Laptop.
5) Make sure your TV is on the HDMI channel.
6) only your laptop screen should display and your TV will say "unsupported signal".
7) In case neither your TV nor your Laptop displaying anything press (Fn + F1) and press Enter keep doing this process until your laptop screen display.
8) right click on desktop and click on NVIDIA control panel.
9) then expand display and click on set up multiple displays.
10) under (Select the displays you want to use) you'll see only Laptop Display checked, check your TV as well.
11) after you check the box next to your TV a second screen will appear under (Drag the icons to match your display configuration).
12) right click on the screens and pick wither you want only the second to display or both.
Hi, I have the similar problem. I have Dell Inspiron n5110 with 64bit windows 7. I want to connect it to Samsung LED 42F5100 42 Inch LED 1080p through HDMI Port. When I connect it TV screen show my Laptop display but with flicking. Shows laptop screen than black screen and so on. I tried all possible ways mentioned in this and other related forums but with no luck. Please help.
* My HDMI cable is correct because i checked it with another computer

Don't forget to choose the correct HDMI video input on the TV's remote-- HDMI 1 or 2 etc. Do not choose PC input. That's only for the VGA connection.
