The Streak 5 has not been discontinued, it is still being introduced into new markets. It has been end of lifed in the US, but we Americans (see we can't even give ourselves a name without taking over a bunch of other countries) forget that we are not the entire world.

We are not the entire world, but we are the most advanced nation. Do you think Dell care, or whether the third world country care which version of Android their phone have????

As I understand it, the O/S upgrades are done by the Carrier, not by Dell...AT & T took forever to upgrade to 2.2 from 1.6, and I thought it was the same thing, In my profession, what Dell/AT&T have done would be considered abandonment...not a nice word to hear in some socially responsible circles..Hmmmm.

If someone from Dell is here...please tell me, so I know what to buy next? PLEASE?

If you bought unlocked from Dell there is an over-the-air update to 2.2.2 only.  If you are locked to a carrier then you are at their mercy.

My Streak won't even update with the official update, but Dell Mobolity Support is replacing it.
