I am sorry to bump up this thread. The problem is back. I went on a holiday for 2 weeks, the computer was absolutely shut down. When I came back I noticed dreadful speeds and I thought it is because my broadband from Virgin is capped at download. It was until when I found out by testing with my mobile phone the connection and noticed I have a problem. Went to Intel website and upgraded to 15.1.1.1 but didn't helped. Ofc disabling bluetooth helps, but where is the problem?...
I thought I had fixed this with a variety of the solutions previously posted. In combination these worked most of the time but then the problem would occasionally recur, most recently quite badly where both my wireless and my wired ethernet slowed down considerably on only the one PC. I found the following article (scroll down to the entry submitted on 15-Jun-2012, 11:25 PM #5):
I did all suggested other than the final Bonjour alteration and anti-virus installationn as I already had this.
The instructions reduce to clearing and resetting catalogs and logs, as well as disabling much of ipv6. In any case, since I did this both wirelsss and internet have been working at similar speeds to that which I obtain for my other 3 PCs, none of which are Dell Inspiron 15Rs nor have the Intel wireless card.
Yes!! I disabled bluetooth from device manager under "network adapter" and "bluetooth radios". After required computer restart, download speed test increased from 10Mb/s to 52 Mb/s. THANK YOU!!!

Hello,
I changed WIFI card N1030 to N6230 for XPS L502, because of same issue with Linksys E1200.
I fillowed your recomendation and Disable 802.11n mode
Connection changed to normal from 2.5mbs to 15mbs
But on next day connection return back to 3mbs.
At the same time connectivity on second Toshiba laptop all the time is normal.
Please let me know if you can help.

Hello,
i know how it works. I have the Intel N 130 Wifi card and Windos 7.
I installed Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7 (64 bit) inklusive ProSet Wirless Software.
When i connect with this Software and not with Windows it works.
Now I have a better connection.

I was rebuilding a Dell Vostro 3550 with the Wireless-N 1030 card and found the WIFI nearly unusable after the rebuild. I just updated the Intel BT driver with the Win7 64 bit update here downloadcenter.intel.com/.../Intel-Centrino-Wireless-N-1030-Single-Band
and it fixed the problem completely. I had tried power settings before and that had not helped
