bxdizzle, the drivers that you will need have been posted to www.dell.com/.../audhs1 over the last 24 hours. There has been some problems with downloading using the web browser download method so you may have to click the + symbol to add each of the drivers to the download list and use the download manager option.

I too have these issues like the many others. Unable to install latest drivers, unable to roll back BIOS. Managed to get the graphics and sound working with original drivers supplied on notebookreview forums.

This is indeed a joke, Dell need to get working on this new BIOS to replace the A14. I don't see it in Dell's interest to send an engineer to EVERY recent L702x customer to replace the motherboard!

I am having a hard time finding the number to ring (until now, I've never had to call dell support). Could someone tell me the UK dell tech support number? I think I have next day support in my warranty, I am willing to wait for an update to fix before a refund / new motherboard, but I need to know how long that will be.

I think that Dell need to study all these problems and have a renovation on Lx02. I had reinstalled audio, with the new driver and it didn´t work. The solution is reinstall this sofware, and after the sistem reiniciates, cancel the upgrade. W7 is capable of autodetect our Realtek.

But the most important problem is the fan, who has a caotic working. Run, stop, run, stop, every 10 seconds... and all this, with ONLY 45º in IDLE. This is not normal.

Please, create a new BIOS with all these problems fixed.

Hi Horrifido,

I installed a GPU Meter gagdet and noticed the fan cycles not with the CPU but with the GPU temperature.

Just to update this initial post:

Problem is being worked on. Latest NVIDIA and Quickset drivers (along with some others) have been posted and now work.

The A14 UEFI BIOS was also posted briefly but was retracted (awaiting further testing). I suggest heading back over to the Dell website and grabbing the latest drivers now.

I have a solution for Dell Quickset. The MSI does custom action checking which can be easily edited out via Orca or InstEd (Google for them). This change will just skip the error that "The system is not supported" because the MSI cannot read the Dell System ID after a reinstall of Windows 7.
Further editing is required if you need to perform an unattended or silent install.

  1. Download the latest copy of the Quckset package EXE (Using 11.0.22 as my example) from Dell and unpack it via 7zip.
  2. Open the Quickset64.msi with an MSI editor (Using InstEd).
  3. Browse the "InstallUISequence" table
  4. Remove sequence 29: "SystemNotSupportedExit    Not REMOVE="ALL" AND IsSystemInSetupLst=0"
  5. Save transformed MSI and exit MSI editor.
  6. Run your transformed MSI and enjoy.

Good luck!

Nvidia 3D driver www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats

Quickset www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats

dell representatives are posting these links and again, its not working out

i have tried these suposed new "working" drivers on A12, A14 factory, and A14 site download and i am still getting failed install messages

Ive had dells my whole life and have never experienced anything like this. Ive been dealing with this issue for way too long now and im about a day away from sending my computer back.

at this point im offended there hasent been a recall. even if these new downloadable "working" drivers worked, think of all the people who have these computers and have NO IDEA how to flash a bios or do any of the required tasks. One thing is for sure and its that im never buying dell again unless this issue is resolved very soon.

The drivers I posted earlier should only be installed on systems with the A14 bios.  What GPU ID is listed in device manager for your system?
