rkumaru,

When you did the clean installation, did you install the desktop/notebook system utility and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

After you install the drivers in the correct order, then what do you see with the webcam?

Hi,

The installation of drivers was done by DELL technician. So I hope he did it in the order mentioned.

Anyway, How can I do it again (uninstall all drivers & follow the order of drivers installation) ?

Will there be any effect on the laptop during this procees ?

rkumaru,

The Dell Technician, did they install a new hard drive? If so, the installation process is automatic.

Sondsl like you're computer is still under warranty. I would contact Dell Tech Support to get the webcam corrected.

You can try...

Using and Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software

If you contact Dell Tech Support, please let me know what they did to correct the problem.

Thanks,

Rick

dell dont'n give software or drivers to webcam  if you buy only laptop without windows and resource cd

WEbcam working only when you install dell resource cd. Becouse i dont have  that cd i may download other program to use the cam.

This is answer from dell support

If somebody have webcam from  dell resource cd to dell 7110 plase share it.

Hi  tuthiennguyen,

Welcome to the Community,

If the Webcam is not getting detected in Device Manager after reinstalling Windows, try restoring BIOS to defaults.Go to BIOS (tap F2 on start up,Dell Logo),on BIOS screen press F9 to restore defaults, press F10 to save and exit.

After the system reboots, check if the Webcam gets detected as Imaging Device in Device Manager.

If the issue persists please post your system model along with Windows operating system version (32 bit or 64 bit).

Thank You

Same problem, tried the defaults through the BIOS menu, running the 64 bit version of Windows 7

Scattcatt,

Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Try reading...

Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software

You can try this file, also known as Dell Webcam Central.

Create a new unrestricted user account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If yes, log out and log back in to your account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If no, then the webcam became detached from the motherboard, usually near the webcam

If your computer is under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support
