Try a different Dell Series 9 ink cartridge?
Is it the color or black cartridge?

You tried the old Dell Series 9 ink cartridge?
You tried another new Dell Series 9 ink cartridge. It is possible to get a Dell Series 9 ink cartridge with a bad sensor.

I was having the same problem with the cartridge alignment error..... followed these instructions to remove power brick for a minute....it worked!!
