Check you didn't disable the onboard LAN or Modem in the BIOs. Also if you reinstalled ensure that you installed everything in the correct order. See my wiki A Clean Install of Windows for details on the install and driver order.

Power down your computer, hold F2 while booting up.

Go to Advanced > System Configuration.

Next go to Advanced.

Do you have the same settings as me? In particular Onboard LAN Controller and Onboard LAN Boot ROM.

Note it may be slightly different for you as I'm on a Desktop.

Maybe they aren't there as your on a laptop but I think they should be. Anyway what Studio eo you have and what drivers have you installed/attempted to install they are all R numbers.

Okay, so I am following your directions and everything is enabled except for summary screen and USB wake support... I do not see those which you listed anywhere?

I have successfully installed those you have listed in your instructions prior to "context"... All of those were installed... That context d400, External USB 56K Modem Rev:A00 will not install. and I get an error message that the MODEM is not available? I am tying to restart my system and the disc to be more accurate ....Just  takes so much time...

Thanks for the instruction. I kept on pressing F8 and F10, but to no avail. Now I know that it should be F2 that needs to be pressed. I guess this is the button for all Dell laptops and desktops.
