If you are on dial up, then any large download will take considerable time.

The download will end up on your hard drive.  I suggest you create a folder called "My Downloads" in which to store all program files that you download.  Then if you ever need to re-install you will already have the installation file and not  have to download again.

Of course your best solution is to get broadband.

kimiandfrank,

Adobe Reader has nothing to do with viewing videos (and if you are on dial-up, videos are highly impractical anyway). It allows you to view *.pdf documents. I suspect that the estimate of a two hour download resulted from your checking the option to download the "full" Acrobat Reader. This is a nearly 16MB download and it provides features which you probably will never use. If you do not select that option the download of the basic Reader is slightly less than 9MB. On my dial-up connection (at 44.0 kpbs)the estimated download time was 37 minutes.

Your system is more than capable of handling Adobe. The download is a compressed file, you install it by double-clicking on its name. When it expands and installs itself in your Program Files folder it takes only 25.3MB which is insignificant compared with the size of your hard disk.

After you have created a "Downloads" folder (another way of doing this is to open Windows Explorer, click on the C:\ drive, then go to File|New|Folder in the menu bar and when the blank folder appears in the right pane enter "Downloads" as the folder name and click ) when the download begins it will ask for a destination for the download. It may default to the Temp folder. Browse to the Downloads folder, click to select it, then OK the download.

Right click anywhere on your desk top. New>folder.  Give it a name. I.E. "downloads".  You can send this program to My Documents aoar just leave it on your desktop.  Pretty easy to do.
