First, edit your post. Remove the seven characters before "-595B". That is your system's Service Tag. It is a violation of the Dell Community Forum to give Service Tag numbers in a post.
No need to trash the Latitude D600. If the person who gave you the laptop was the original owner, then you need to contact him/her and fill out a Transfer of Ownership here: www.dell.com/.../IdentifySystem
You will need information from the original owner to complete this process.
After you transfer ownership, you can contact Dell directly for assistance in removing the password.
