I would look to see if you have Blio Reader installed on your system and if so you may need to uninstall it. Click start, control panel, programs and features and look for BLIO or BLIO Reader and then click uninstall.
I am also having this problem and it is coming from the dell support center or support center icon on the dell stage; as it was a free download offer to install the Blio reader that is a bad link that shows up in the dell support center. Once clicked it goes to the bad link to download and fails, after that anytime and everytime you open dell support center it tries to download the blio reader again... over and over. How can we editthe task from downloading the blioreader as I already sent it to the trash within dell support center, however it still shows up on its task list within the dell stage?
You can't un-install something that was not "installed".. The issue is that there is a script placed on your PC from dell that at some time of day it tells your PC to open IE and go to the website to download the file. You did not ask for it, but Dell and Blio want you to install it. Someone needs to tell the customers why they feel the need to force this program on you and other customers.
Blio tech have today said that Dell have confirmed the problem is with it's support centre and is working on a fix. An update for Dell Support Centre is being worked on and will be released as soon as it's ready.
thanks Rob for clearing up the blio situation. I thought I was on my own here or had a virus or something. Bloody Dell I wish they would make life easier . I will await a resolution in geed faith that dell will get their act together. all the best Danielaa
Nope! I already tried that and it didn't fix mine as I'm sure it didn't fix the other guy's machine either. I even called Tech Support and they wouldn't fix it unless I buy a "Software Warranty". The way I figure it, I bought 4 very high end computers from you people, and you loaded some kind of garbage on them that wont work, and yet you refuse to fix it. Now, I suppose I'm stuck with a lot of very expensive crap that I can't use -- right?
Fine. I'll toss all these POS's in the trash, and I'll buy all new HPs. But, BE WARNED! I'll never buy anything else from DELL, and neither will anyone else I know.
Wish I had seen this before I bought mine. but then again. Didn't know I would run into this problem. Guess I will just re install the blio thing again. Doesn't seem to matter either way. problem will still exist. UGH.. Crap..
I've been having the same problem as well!! Very frustrating. I uninstalled Blio Reader and re-installed it just to uninstall it again because I don't want this crap! I've have tried various ways to get rid of this thing and have spent way too much time doing so. I've even done a complete scan on the computer, etc...still having the same problem. I called Dell Support and they told me it could be my web browser - told them I was using Firefox and they said that it was probably something to do with Firefox, so unfortunately I ended up having to uninstall it. I thought I'd try using Internet Explorer, same thing.....then I thought I would use Google Chrome, same thing. In all three search engines I even blocked the blio reader and it still opens up in another tab. Also another thing is that when it does it's "thing", it sounds as though my CD player is doing a quick open and close and the (laptop) fan sounds like it groans after all is said and done!! I certainly do hope that Dell has a solution for this problem and like someone mentioned they've been waiting 2 months...what kind of customer service is that!!!! We pay extremely good money for their computers!!!!

2 months and no fix by Dell, nice. Does anyone know how to unload this script on our own?
