Right. Only Dell personnel can help you with such problem as you can't get any licensed OS online just by downloading it.

Hi Elijah,

I was wondering if you could send me windows 7 starter installation CD.  I have a dell inspiron mini.  I don't know how to send you the service tag# and my home address without divulging it to a lot of people on this forum.

Thank you!

Although its best to get the DVD from Dell, an alternative if your 25 digit product key is legible is to download a Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium .iso and make a bootable USB. Delete the ei.cfg file, install Windows 7 Starter and activate via phone. This is explained in my Windows Reinstallation Guide:

Alternatively when you get the DVD from Dell you may use it as instructed in my Windows Reinstallation Guide. If you get a DVD you may need to convert it into a bootable USB in order to install Windows 7 on the netbook this is likewise explained in my Windows Reinstallation Guide.

Using a 32 bit USB bootable install from ISO you remove EI.CFG from the sources directory.

When the stick boots you choose windows starter and use the KEY from the COA on the unit.  The bootable stick must be at least 8 gigs.

You make the bootable usb stick with a WIN7 32 bit ISO and the

Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

Then remove the EI.CFG file before booting it.
