dell image missing for factory restore

Question

Hi all, Please help I have a dell inspiron 1520 laptop, I want to restore Factory settings and when I press F8 and look for dell image restore It's not there! I don't have much knowledge of computers and I don't know How to restore it. I have the drivers and utilities disc the laptop Came with vista but a friend put windows 7 on it. Thank you very much for The help! :-)

You can try to do factory image restore by referring to the following link. If it does not work, you will need to manually re install windows on your system.

Once Windows 7 was installed, the quick restore option is gone. You can still use the restore partition - assuming whoever did the installation didn't delete it. If it's gone, however, it's gone - manual install is the only way.

You will need a Windows disc to restore -- if the partition is there - or to do a manual install.

Thank you for the advice I'm glad to know why the image has gone I have the vista

cd an I turned on my laptop with it & clicked on repair, then ive got a screen that says system

recovery options which then says operating system windows 7 not sure

what to do next?
