Plug something else into it - does it work with a mouse, keyboard, flash drive, etc?

Yes, reads flash drive fine.  I think it  is the printer.  HP had me do a test (hold cancel for 3 seconds; dignostics page should print and didn't) and it failed.  Let's see where they send me next.

Holy crap -- HP is so quick to blame the manufacturer and don't even support even checking the printer function.

1) Do other devices work - No (bad port or no/corrups driver for the port) or Yes (probably not a bad port

2) When you print:  a) do you see the job go into devices and printer/Printer?

Does the printer physically acknowledge it.

Does the Print spooler service stay started?

It's easier to blame someone else :)

1.  Flash drive works fine

2.  Yes but nothing prints

3.  It doesn't talk to me, no :-)

4.  No idea

HP says it is an internal error in the printer.  I'm now looking for a new one, though this is firly new
