(Works if you have Logitech or any external mouse)

Solution:

1. Check if you have logitech or external mouse

2. Go to device manager

3. Right click the item for the external mouse

4. Go to properties

5. Under mouse properties go to the power management tab

6. Uncheck the item "allow this device to resume from standby"

Hope this helps!

Pete,
Have you installed the latest version of Quicken? One of the problems Quicken causes with Standby is the loss of sound. This is caused by the MrtRate driver in the Quicken program. You will just have to live with it or uninstall Quicken. This mrtRate driver only affects certain computer systems. I have yet to find a fix for this problem.

Elaine, thank you, thank you, thank you!  I did exactly as you said and I now have sound after I come out of standby mode.  Gee whiz, and to think I spent 10 minutes on phone with an official Dell software technician...he had me clicking this and clicking that with net result of no fix.  And yes, I do have a Logitech external mouse.

Cheers!

Pete
