2. Press and hold the Fn key and push the power button. Release both the hands. That will initiate the PSA test. Make a note of any error messages.
However if the system has no lights and no beeps codes the issue could be with the power supply on the system board which needs to be replaced.
If the laptop is under warranty please click on my name and Add as Friend and provide me the contact number so that I can call you and set up a service call.
But if the laptop is Out of Warranty, please contact Dell Out of Warranty Repair on 1-800-288-4410 who will repair and replace the required parts.
If the power LED is flashing amber it means the battery charge is low and you need to connect the adapter. If the LED is flashing white it is on Stand by mode. Please these steps to isolate the issue:
-- Shutdown the system and unplug the adapter and remove the battery.
-- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. That will discharge the residual electricity from the system board.
-- Connect only the adapter and try to power On the system.
Check with a good known adapter and try different outlets.
The Inspiron™ Mini 10 uses beep codes to report errors. Hence check for the number of beep codes, if any.
Thanks for the input, I attempted those items actually before I posted to no avail. I was hoping there would be some other neat trick. I have also left the battery out overnight and left it unplugged to no avail. As far as the beeps are concerned, I do not hear any at all. I am still open for suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Satya, I did exactly as you instructed but I get a blank screen. Now if I put the battery in and plug it up then power on I get the following message: Warning: The battery cannot be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery. Strike the F1 key to continue. It also flashes like a blue and orange Very quickly. When i do as told and hit the F1 I am back to a blank screen. Please advise this computer has be inoperable for almost 2 years now. Thanks, Nikki

Thanks for your assistance, regretably I think it is the power circuit on the motherboard.
