Try to release flea power and see if that helps. To release flea power disconnect the charger, remove the battery and press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds(with battery and charger disconnected). Now put back the battery and reconnect the charger and turn on the system.
If this does not work, would like to ask you few question to find out the problem.
Does the charger light ( light on the charger brick) come on when its plugged in to the main power outlet?
Have you tried different power outlet?
If the charger light comes on,does it stay on when its plugged in to the system?
What is the status of the light on the power button of the system?
Thanks for your response, apologies for the delayed reply. So whilst i was away at work, my wife decided to switch on the laptop and it worked!! It loaded up perfectly fine as if there was never an issue. I instructed her to not switch it off and now here i am messaging you from it.
I'm still conscious that there may be an underlying issue and am very reluctant to shut down the machine!
In response to your questions, i didn't release the flea power but if it happens again, i shall.
The light on the charger brick lights up fine when plugged into a mains power outlet, and stays on when plugged into the system. The status light for the mains power did not switch on.
I've still never heard of this issue happening elsewhere. It was as if the laptop was completely dead.
Hello Roshan I have the 1545 as well, and I am experiencing the same problem. 2 days ago i could not power up, even when plugged in the power light on the laptop is not lit. The power brick is lit, I tried different adapters, different outlets, removing the battery and cord and pressing the power button for 60 seconds. Nothing worked, it was working fine until this incident. Please help!!!!!
Its a no power situation and its same with different adapters. There is not much of trouble shooting that can be done as you've already tried the basic trouble shooting steps. It could be an issue with the charger board or the motherboard/system board.Charger board has the AC adapter connector port,so if its an issue with that port, you need to get the charger board replaced. If that does not solve the problem you may need to get the motherboard replaced.
I believe your system is out of warranty.Let me know if you need information on the repair options available through Dell.
I am having the same problem. I tried flea power on, it does not work. the adaptor light is always on when it is connected to system. but there is no power on light lit in the sytem.
If releasing flea power did not help you may try to remove and reseat the memory module,HDD and optical drive.
For steps to remove and reseat refer to this link below :

If removing and reseating these components does not help then it could be an issue with the charger board(which has the AC adapter port) or the motherboard/system board.
I am going through the same experience and the issue still persists even after trying all the basic troubleshooting steps. Looks like an issue with the motherboard or charger board. So can you please tell me how can i get this fixed???

Hi Roshan
I am having a problem with the Inspiron 1545. The charger has a blue light when plugged in at the mains but turns off when
plugged into the laptop and does not charge. There is no power left in the battery so it does not boot at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
Welcome to the Community,
If the charger LED turns off when the charger is connected to the system it indicates an issue with the motherboard.
Was the system working fine with only battery connected?
Is your system under warranty?
Thank You
