i guess that makes sense but you'd think they'd consider the fact that a lot of their customers are repeat buyers - and pissing off and or frustrating former customers is not a good thing.

I have been trying every few days. Every time I'm told Dell still has no date for the sale of the 9600 through Dell Spare Parts. Every time I'm told that Dell can not accept orders for the H3251 part number because that number is for new systems only.

If someone has been able to order this card I would love to get the contact info for the person that took their order.

Last time somebody began selling 5650 go's on Ebay... It'd be great if that happened again with the 9600 pro turbo.

I suspect that the cards can not be ordered from spares yet because there may still be a shortage of the part in general - whether for new systems or spares.

It would makes sense that Dell would reserve the limited quantities of cards that they have for new system purchases until they can secure a larger supply of them and finally make them available as spares.

My guess is, when you can order a new system with the 9600 and not see a delay listed, we'll be able to get them through spare parts sometime after.  Until then, it would appear the cards are scarce enough to cause a delay in the build of new systems, so they won't be offering them as spares until the supply exceeds the demand for them in new systems.

EDIT:

Looks like the delay in ordering is no longer there, so maybe we'll be able to get them soon.

I suppose it's also possible that the part number for a spare/replacement 9600 may be different than the one that comes with a new system, but I have no way to be sure.

Just to let you know the F3515 is a REFURB MR9600 (90 day warranty) while H3251 is a NEW MR9600 (one year warranty).

Unfortunately I ordered th H3251 on Dec. 22 and still haven't recieved it. On the Jan 23, I cancelled that order and reordered (H3251) through Software/Per. instead of spare parts... they said it should only take up to a week.. we'll see what happens. When trying to order F3515 from Spare Parts Canada, they said that it was "out of stock" or "did not exist" so I stuck with the New MR9600 instead of the Refurb MR9600.

Only time will tell :)

Looks like ordering part# F3515 is the way to go.  I'm still waiting on part# H3251 that has been stuck in DSP limbo since I ordered it last year.
