Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number, then select your operating system. Under Network, download and install the latest drivers.
Try these tweaks....
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Click on advanced, look for Antenna Diversity and change it from Auto to Aux.
Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.
Uninstalled Dell Wireless driver as dell will/not going too provided update for the same as they will only quote with not known issue and if u say its on community site they would say its just been posted by customer if u like dell keep it or dispose it off as now days WLN card in dell have major problem.
step1:uninstalled dell wireless-Restart laptop
step2:install the driver from leveno site that is Broadcom BCM43142 Wireless LAN Driver (802.11b/g/n)

Guys go to this link to get the latest drivers for this card. Did not see any improvement for me but it might help some one out there. Forget putting your service tag process use this link.
