i have lost my disk for my sound blaster i.e srs premium soung software
I think you mean the SoundBlaster X-Fi MB software? SRS is something else.
the thing is that i reinstalled window
What operting system did you install? The link that DELL-Nikhil De supplied was just for people who already have the Vista version of the software but who are upgrading to 7.
there is driver software available in drivers section but its making me crazy like the installation went through but i cant c it anywhere.
Even if you had the SoundBlaster X-Fi MB software you have to first install the IDT audio driver. The one that DELL-Nikhil De linked to is for 7, so if you have Vista get the Vista version from your downloads page. If it won't install you might not have installed the drivers in the correct order
i have lost my disk
You can request replacement discs from Dell here. But before doing that check and see if the software is available for downloading through your My Dell Downloads.
thanks for your reply. and i did installed all the drivers as u said.IDT dint give me any problem while installing but this sound blaster driver gives no problem in installation but just when the installation bar is about to finish it vanishes and nothing happens.. sorry if i am unable to explain but let me know if u dont understand i'l find some other way..
yea i did installed these software's already .IDT driver is installed without any problem but sound blaster driver installation went thru but u cant c it anywhere and neither i c any finish symbol.. i mean when i start installing it ,it gives no error nothing at all but it just vanishes after all installation bar finishes nothing happens afterwards.and i am using window 7 64-bit home premium.
i don't know if u will get what i mean or not ..?? plz let me know u dont get it ,i'l try to explain in some other way.
@jim thanks but drivers are already on there website and i dont think that buying them for no reason is a good idea.. if u can provide some link for Creative sound blaster(s) x-fi mb software kit ,that would be helpful and appreciated because i am still having its product key.. thanks again..
You said you originally had the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi MB cd (or Sound Blaster Audigy MB) but lost it. If you need a free replacement you have to try to get it from Dell. Creative does not give their products away. Creative Support will supply a new key to people who request it, but you said you have a key. There is an explanation in their Soundblaster X-Fi MB FAQ,
If you don't have any luck with the 2 links I provided for you (My Dell Downloads and Request Backup Disks), then look on your Dell invoice for the Creative disk you ordered when you ordered the laptop. It might not be called Creative Soundblaster X-Fi MB on the invoice. Sometimes they list it as P684M Module, Software, Creative PANZER or something like that. Then call Dell and ask for a replacement disk. You may need your invoice info to verify that you really did pay for the software.
If you originally ordered a Vista disk then you will have to install it in Vista compatibility mode (after the IDT driver is installed) and then the patch from the Dell site. If the original disk was for Vista 32bit there might be some additional tweaking required to get it to work with 7 64bit.

Hi mindhunter
I found link for the audio drivers and sound blaster for studio 1558.
Link for audio drivers:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/studio-1558?driverId=G11FC&osCode=W764&fileId=2731094115
Link for Sound Blaster:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/studio-1558?driverId=R224473&osCode=W764&fileId=2731126835
Follow the steps to download the drivers:
Check if that helps and reply for any further help.

Do you mean this 3 MB file? That is just a patch. It assumes you already have the full Vista version of the software and converts it to work on 7.
I didn't say anything about buying it.

I think you need the full SoundBlaster X-Fi MB program. Check your My Dell Downloads and if it is not there then request the disk from Dell.
