The driver that you are using is designed to work for 'Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Adapter' and has been tested to work in 'Windows 7 - 32/64 bit' environment only. 'Inspiron n5010' is not tested to work with 'Windows 8' and therefore its 'Windows 8' compatible official drivers are not available on Dell support website.
The steps that I have shared in my previous post have worked for some 'community members' in a similar situation; however, they are not validated and are only experimental.
You may also try the following driver (suggested by ) to see if that works for you: http://dell.to/12L1UG7
I was able to upgrade my Dell Studio 1735 from Windows Vista to Windows 8. The two items that did not work after the upgrade was the fingerprint reader and Bluetooth. I downloaded Protector Suite 2012, which is Freeware, and I used the Bluetooth driver you recommended in your post.
I had been looking for a solution to the Bluetooth problem for over 3 days, so you saved me a lot of time and aggravation.
Glad that the issue is fixed and 'Bluetooth' in your system works with 'Windows 8'.
However, since Studio 1735 laptop is not tested to work in 'Windows 8' environment and its 'Windows 8' compatible drivers are not available on Dell support website, you may experience random issues with its functionality and performance in future.
You may want to take a glance at the Dell systems that are tested to work optimally with 'Windows 8': http://dell.to/OgPlyC

i have a dell inspiron 1564 laptop i have formated my os to windows 8 bluetooth drivers is not working so pls send me drivers to my mail or support me how to update
'Inspiron 1564' is not tested to work with 'Windows 8'; therefore you are experiencing issues with 'Bluetooth Service'. You may however try using the following steps to see if they work. Driver designed for 'Windows 7' has been used and this work around has produced positive results for some users. You may want to give it a shot.
- Click the following link to download the latest Bluetooth driver: http://dell.to/UMT7zS - Save the folder (zipped folder) on the 'Desktop screen' - Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R235168.exe - The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R235168 - Click Ok - After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it - Open the following path: C:\dell\Drivers\R235168\Win64 (If Windows 8 64 bit is installed; if 32 bit 'Windows 8' is installed, open the folder: Win32) - Locate file Inst (Refer to the image below)
- Right click file 'Inst' - Click 'Run as an administrator' - Click 'Yes' to continue if prompted with 'User access control' message - Follow through with the installation as per the screen instructions - Finish the installation and check for the Bluetooth functionality - If issue persists, try using the 'setup' file to install drivers in compatibility mode (Next Step)
Install 'Setup.exe' file in 'compatibility Mode' - Navigate to C:\dell\Drivers\R235168\Win64 (If Windows 8 64 bit is installed; if 32 bit 'Windows 8' is installed, open the folder: Win32) - Right click ‘Setup’ file and click ‘Properties’ - Click “Install in compatibility mode’ - Click on Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’ - Next, click on ‘Troubleshoot Program’ - Click on Program worked in earlier versions of Windows - Click on ‘Windows 7’ - Click on ‘Start the Program’ - Do not hit ‘Next’ until the installation completes - Once the installation completes, click on ‘Next’
'Inspiron 1464' laptop is not tested to work with 'Windows 8'; therefore its 'Windows 8' compatible drivers are not listed on Dell Support Website. However, you may try installing the 'graphic drivers' directly from the 'ATI website': http://bit.ly/QxvgT2
The suggested drivers are legacy drivers and may or may not work for you. You may want to give it a shot. Also refer to the list of all Dell systems tested to work with 'Windows 8': http://dell.to/SQojxk
Hope this helps. Do reply if you have any further questions; would be glad to assist.
Thank you very much for this post. I got my Dell 365 Bluetooth module working on Windows 8 Professional by installing the updated driver. I appreciate your help.
First Thanks for the advice. But this not resolve my problem. I have Dell Inspiron 1464 laptop recentely I use Windows 8 pro in my laptop, not installed Bluetooth driver. I did all that you adviced but failed.
The latest 'Bluetooth driver' that are available for 'Inspiron 1545' notebook are built/tested to work with 'Windows 7 32/64 bit'. Therefore, you may experience 'Bluetooth issues' with the laptop; 'Windows 8' compatible drivers for 'Dell 365 Bluetooth Module' are not available on 'Dell support website'.
You may still try the steps listed below. These steps are based on a 'work-around' and have not been 'validated/tested' by Dell. They have proved useful for the majority of users. You may find these steps useful:
Click http://dell.to/Re5shT - Download the file 'R228749.exe' > Extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R228749 (Note this path for reference) > Close the 'Window' after 'extraction' completes > Open the path: C:\dell\Drivers\R228749\Win64 (If Windows 8 64 bit is installed; if 32 bit 'Windows 8' is installed, open the folder: Win32) > Locate and right-click file 'Inst' > 'Run as an administrator' (Yes, if prompted) > Follow through with the installation as per the screen instructions and Finish the installation and check results.
If the issue persists, you may try installing 'Setup.exe' file in 'compatibility Mode': Navigate to C:\dell\Drivers\R228749\Win64 (If Windows 8 64 bit is installed; if 32 bit 'Windows 8' is installed, open the folder: Win32) > Right click ‘Setup’ file and click ‘Properties’ > Click 'Install in compatibility mode’ > Click on 'Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’ > Next, click on ‘Troubleshoot Program’ > Click on Program worked in earlier versions of Windows > Click on ‘Windows 7’ > Click ‘Start the Program’ > Do not hit ‘Next’ until the installation completes Once the installation completes, click on ‘Next’ and check result.

Hi Atitudeh,
The latest 'Bluetooth driver' that are available for 'Inspiron 1545' notebook are built/tested to work with 'Windows 7 32/64 bit'.
Click http://dell.to/Re5shT
- Download the file 'R228749.exe' > Extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R228749 (Note this path for reference) > Close the 'Window' after 'extraction' completes > Open the path: C:\dell\Drivers\R228749\Win64 (If Windows 8 64 bit is installed; if 32 bit 'Windows 8' is installed, open the folder: Win32) > Locate and right-click file 'Inst' > 'Run as an administrator' (Yes, if prompted) > Follow through with the installation as per the screen instructions and Finish the installation and check results.
Hope this helps.
