Hello Extreme,

I really appreciate the troubleshooting performed by you. The error code 0F00:1344 indicates a hard drive failure and it needs a replacement. If the computer has an active warranty, I’d request you to private message me the system service tag number. To private message, click on my user name and click start conversation.
I’d be glad to assist you further and let you know the next course of action.

im sorry but this didnt work because when i click Repair it just brings up a black screen with this,

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.

2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."

3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance

Status: 0xc000000e

Info: The Boot Selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

I do not have the disc and my laptop doesnt have warranty anymore. So i dont know what else to do.

Hello Extreme,

Thank you for replying,
I would suggest running a hardware diagnostics.
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Disconnect all the peripherals from the computer (for example, external hard drive, flash drive or printer only the power adapter and battery should be connected to the computer.)
    3. Restart the computer and keep tapping F12.
    4. It takes you to the One Time Boot Menu.
    5. Select Diagnostics and press Enter.

It would run the hardware diagnostics and generate an error if there are any issues with hardware components. Please let me know the results of the test, I would be glad to assist you with the next course of action.

Hi Juan,

I am glad to know that the computer works fine after restoring it to factory settings. However, please write back to us if you face any issue with the computer, would be glad to help.
I would suggest you to back up all the data from your computer to ensure that you do not loose any of them in case the hard drive goes bad.

Good Afternoon,

I have an Inspiron 1564 that was purchased 06/2010 - Error code 0F00:1344 Hard drive failure appeared without warning.  Is it possible to retrieve the data from the damaged drive ?

Is this a known issue with the inspiron 1564 ?

One month ago my Vostro 320 purchases Jan 2010 - power supply went out without warning also.

Hello MGill419,

Sorry about the situation. Electronic devices are prone to failures hence we have warrantied the system in order to support it. We truly regret the inconvenience caused.

Regarding the hard drive I would like to say; if the computer booting into Windows we can certainly back up the data from the hard drive. In case it is not booting at all, you may contact Driver Savers and get the data backed up. You can also contact any local technician to back up data.

Hope this helps!
