It looks like you have Installed a HP OEM Operating system - 32 bit. Moreover you have 8 GB RAM. but in a 32-bit OS, you can have only a max of 4 GB. Your system should have been shipped with Windows Vista 64bit / Win 7 64 Bit.
I was unable to retrieve any information using the 'Service Tag' that you've shared. It could be due to various reasons; need to know some more details to investigate the matter.
I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button.
I am sending you a private message as well. Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide the required system’s details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action. You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message.
'Inspiron 5520' is built with various 'wireless cards'. Therefore multiple drivers (for different wireless cards) are listed on 'Dell Support Website'. Please try to check the status of 'Wireless card' installed in the system from 'Device Manager'.
You may want to refer to the following steps: Click 'Start' (Windows 7) > Type 'devmgmt.msc' (without quotations) in the 'Search Box' > Tap 'Enter' (Device Manager appears) > Locate and Expand 'Network Adapters' > Check if a 'question mark/exclamation mark' is observed besides any 'network device' (You may also look through the whole list to see if any other device is listed with such a mark, under 'Other Devices')
If yes, right click the 'Device' > Click 'Properties' > Click 'Details' tab > Select 'Hardware ID' from the 'Property Drop Down' > Capture and share 'Hardware ID details'. I will suggest you an appropriate driver for that device, based on the 'Hardware Id' status. Also share the details of 'Windows version' installed in the unit.
Do reply with the findings; would be glad to assist.

Also, reading the above is quite frustrating - DELL does NOT SHIP DEVICE DRIVERS WITH NEW DELL PC'S UNLESS THE CUSTOMER PAYS FOR THE DISK. Old Dell customers like myself have realized this, but new customers to Dell don't know this fact!
DELL DOES NOT PROVIDE WINDOWS 7 OR WINDOWS 8 RECOVERY DISKS UNLESS PURCHASED BY THE CUSTOMER THROUGH DELL. DELL DOES NOT PROVIDE A WINDOWS 8 PRODUCT CODE STICKER - SO IF YOU HAVE TO FORMAT OR REPLACE YOUR HARD DRIVE YOU WILL NEED TO CONTACT DELL, OR PURCHASE A NEW LICENSED COPY. (Or....see below, and locate your product code through software sniffer means)
When you get your dell out of the box, burn the recovery DVD's immediately. Don't access the internet until you do this.

I was having the same problem until I realized that the LAN (Ethernet adapter - NON WIRELESS) is labeled wrong on Dell's Driver website.
1. Go to the downloads page and enter your service tag of your Dell Laptop.
2. Filter results "Only for this service tag"
3. Filter results by your operating system (Make sure you check if it is 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7
4. Filter by "Network"
5. Select "Realtek High Definition Audio Controller" - this is the LAN driver that is MIS-LABELED BY DELL!!!!
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/inspiron-15r-5520?driverId=7HM70&osCode=W764&fileId=3154015406&languageCode=EN&categoryId=NI
Download and install the driver, and you should be up and running.

modem is Conexant D110,HDA,MDC,v.92,modem. Network controller is Wireless 1490 Dual-Band WLAN MiniCard. Search for the above mentioned in
ftp.dell.com/.../latitude-d620.html and download the driver based on the operating system you have.
