Is your computer working only with the AC Adapter? Are you using the same battery shipped with the system?
I would recommend you to check the battery health and check the AC Adapter status in BIOS and drain the residual power from the laptop and see if it works. Note: The battery life is largely determined by the number of times it is charged. After hundreds of charge and discharge cycles, batteries lose some charge capacity. That is, a battery can show a charged status but may maintain a reduced charge capacity.
Know good swaps are your friend -- this issue can be A/C adapter, Mobo, battery, bottom plastics (how hte battery sits in the machine) issues -- do a known good swap, even if you have to go to Best Buy to do it.
I talked again to the SAT people, they told me that it could be an AC adapter problem, because some laptops of the 7720 line use 130 W AC-adapter while mine is only 90 W. I dont know if that makes any sense, i also think is probably a motherboard issue.
Anyway, a technician will come if the problem is not finally caused by the AC-Adapter. I already tried to charge the laptop overnight, actually i tried it 3 nights in a row, but nothing happened.
Thank you for the information. I understand that you are already in touch with technical support for your region. Do let me know in case you need any further assistance.
Well, the problem is already solved. It turned out that it was a motherboard problem. A Dell technician came here, changed the mobo in situ and now everything is fine.
The same problem on dell inspiron N411z gets me nervous. I'm IT specialist and i tried all my best except to check with another battery or motherboard. what shall i do?
