panacea12,

Make and model of your wireless router and the type of security you're using. What channel?

Can you tell me the virus program and firewall you're using?

Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER, if using XP, run an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

panaceabeachbum1,

If you want to continue to use WEP, which can be hacked in less than 10 minutes, then try channel 11.

I would use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier. The printer would need setup like you did when it was new.

panaceabeachbum1,

I can recommend the basic tweaks but since this was first installed 12/25/12, then this was a present, correct? If yes, you're under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support, then'll be able to help you.

Apologies for delay, cant log in with my regular username and password recovery wont send me link to password reset page and I cant create a new one with my same email address So I have had to create another email address and a new username .

Still no resolution to this problem . I have changed encryption from WPA to WEP open and computer logged on for a few days , now wont log on at all. I have never had so many problems with a simple network, my neighbors kid can now hack my connection with a handheld nintendo in about 2 minutes and this $600 laptop cant even log in.

Router is Dlink dir 601

mixed 802 n +g

2.437 ghz Channel 6

64 bit WEP open

I have set wep key 1 and 2 and Have a printer and 7 other computers, tablets etc that all log in just fine.

Please help, I am over 10 hours in on something that should have taken less than 5 minutes, most of the time wasted on this <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU> windows 8

No problem, just short of 2 hours on the phone with India and the resolution was he remotley reconfigured my router, so now the 7 other devices we use daily in my business all need to be reconfigured. I really wish I could just have all my money back for this "thing"
