Hi Sunny25,

Thank you for your response. My issue is not that the video card in my Apple Mac does not output 10-bit. Rather, my issue is my inability to access the monitors 14-bit LUT due to the fact that the software designed to allow access is not available for the Mac OSX platform. Regardless of the bit depth I am able to output from my video card, it has been proven (and supported) by the likes of 'Eizo' that having access to a LUT results in significantly smoother tonal transitions and improves hue divergence by improving the gamma curve of each RGB color in the output, even if the signal is then outputted to a lower bit depth than that of the LUT. For further reading on this topic please take a look here: www.eizo.com/.../index.html

Thanks for your time.

Brett.

Hi b_edmonds,

Please read this : www.imagescience.com.au/.../10+Bit+Output+Support

14-BIT LUT is supported by the monitor but not the apple OS. Note 10 bit output is currently impossible with the Mac up to and including Lion (10.7).  While you may have read a famous article about this being possible, this was later retracted by the author as incorrect (you can see the author conversing with Adobe engineers here on this, well after the article was published) - although that particular site has unfortunately not bothered to update the article to reflect its known incorrect information unfortunately).

Please read DELL-Chris M post concerning Dell monitors and apple:
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19347208.aspx

Or go easy way and install Windows OS. Hope this helps.

We understand your frustration but as you can see from ChrisM post, "Dell does not test or validate any monitors with apple proprietary OS or cabling. We only offer Windows support.".
