overheating Inspiron 4000, 2.5 years old

Question

Hi, my Inspiron 4000 laptop becomes very hot and crashes after about 30 minutes. When cooling it via an external fan everything runs perfect. The internal fan works. I heard from a friend that his Laptop was totally filled with dust. So I decided to clean my Laptop. After cleaning the fan (with a vacuum cleaner), things became a little bit better, but it still crashes. So I want to open my Laptop and clean it internally, like my friend did. But this thing just won't open - I unscrewed about 30 screws, but there are two screws left that are located between the display and the laptop. I don't know how to detach the display. Any suggestions? Thanks, Stefan

The 4000 has two fans - the one under the right back corner is critical - it cools the cpu.  Get a can of compressed air from a computer/office supply store and blow out the fan really good, then the vent on the right back side.  Get i8kfangui linked below and control the fans.  If both fans won't turn, you need to address this problem.

you might want to check if there is a recall on the battery,s i was reading the recall,s on the older notebook,s and i think that one was in there
