I bought 3 2412m from amazon, I had 2 of them that were manufactured from Jan 2013 and one from feb 2013.  They're all rev 00 and the one that was made in Feb looks different from the other 2. First being the whites, the whites are a little better than the other 2, being that it doesn't have a blueish tint. I can tell some colors look different than the other screens that I have.. Especially the light colors. I'm not particularly too happy about it and think I'll return to amazon.

seems that a lot of ppl complain about the same thing, and thats so weird, i got an earlier revision 1 year later !  I trid to mess up with the RGB to match the colors of the new one but till i got no luck at all. Im so dissapointed with the Ultrasharp series, its supossed to be perfect !!!! I paid almost $ 500 for each here in Brazil.

All,

I do not think it will be possible to get the color and backlight to match between two monitors. Our specifications to the manufacturer are not tight enough to achieve this.

Does this apply for all Dell monitors? do they use more stringent quality control on the higher end Dell IPS models e.g.  U3011. Thanks.

Yes it does. No. I wish we did though.
