Hi Lmoncion18,

To provide a resolution to this issue, please reply to this post with the requested information:

1. Was the Internet connection obtained via Power over Ethernet device which you had connected to the laptop?
2. Have you connected a LAN cable to the port now?
3. Picture of the device that you used earlier and the Internet Service Provider:

Dear Rajath, I have a query regarding the same ......

I am using Inspiron 1545 with windows 7 purchased in Oct 2011 with service tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.

1. I was surfing net using LAN cable till few days back. thereafter, there were some issues regarding satellite link through which we get net and when the internet became alright , i tried connecting my laptop through LAN cable, it is just not connecting although i am still able to access net through WI-FI .

2. When i checked in device manager , under network adaptor only three items are being shown

(a) Bluetooth device(personal area network)

(b) Bluetooth device(RFCOMM protocol TDI)

(c) Dell wireless 1397 wlan mini card

3. I am not able to locate the LAN ethernet driver which i think is the main reason of my LAN cable not working.

4. I have also checked in network and sharing centre where only two connections are being shown. The LAN connection is missing there also.

5. I have also visited DELL website and downloaded Marvell miniport driver 10/100 ethernet driver which is R230994 but after installing it, still i am not able to surf net through LAN cable as no connection is being shown when i connect LAN cable.

please help
