Dell N5010 video avi lag/delay/freeze problem

Greetings, fellow forumers.I am in desperate in of help. I own a Dell n5010 and of recently I started having a really bad problem. Every avi video I play starts lagging, slowing down or delaying. It might occur once in a 2 min or 5 times in 30 seconds. It is super annoying. The video just slows down, the sound and the picture freeze for let's say 1-3 seconds and then it catches up. Until it happens again.At first I was really puzzled as to why was this happening. I'm an avid movie viewer and I'm constantly watching things on my laptop. I tried some MKV and MP4 videos and they were lagging too. I become obsessed with the problem and started seeing lag and slowing down everywhere. I think I was right though. Even some games started having this 1-3 seconds freeze.I thought it might be a video driver problem. As far as I recall steam updated my drivers and I thought that might be the cause. I started reading about drivers and stuff, updated and reinstalled them over 20 times. Nothing worked. Then I decided it might have something to do with the video players I was using. I started trying new ones - bs player, KM player, windows media player, Media Player Classic Home Cinema player and what not, nothing helped. Every following solution I tried to come up with made me more frustrated.In the end I decided I might have some conflicting software. I started uninstalling programs, but nothing changed. Finally I got absolutely pissed off so I formatted my windows drive and installed a clean Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit edition.Now I think everything works fine. The laptop is as fast as it should be, programs and loading times are okay. It's all good, except for the damn Avi video files. The problem just remains. I tried playing MKV and mp4 videos again and they run flawlessly. It's only the avi files.I installed the newest pot player, reading in an article that it is really good, fast and powerful, hoping to fix the problem but unfortunately, it didn't.Fellow forumers, please help me with some advice or solution because this problem drives me crazy.P.S Ah, I forgot to mention some important things. I defragmented my hard drive, used cc cleaner to and anti-virus programs to scan and fix problems (there were none, except for some missing registry). I ran some dell diagnostic tools to check if there is a hardware problem, but my laptop passed every test and all seems alright.

Dell, I really need help over here.

My laptop's lag is getting unbearable.

I can't type, I can't browse, I can't use anything. I'm getting (program not responding all the time). What could be the problem of this? Windows Update? Could this be the problem? The lag has spread throughout my entire system!
