Hi mschullstrom,

The issue might be with the motherboard as the system is not taking the charge.

Since you said that you tried with the new battery and you are facing same issue .

Ac adapter is also working fine as there is a light blinking on the ac adapter.

I do request you to provide the service tag number on a private chat and I will get back to you on the warranty status.

Below details will help you on how to send me a private chat.

I have added you as a friend.

Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name ‘NIKHIL M ’highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button.

I am sending you a private message as well.

Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide the service tag and contact details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action.

You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message. Please let me know if this helps.

Hi Samir,

Welcome to the Community,

Does the LED on the AC adapter turn off, when its connected to the system? Are there any signs of system receiving power or does the power LED on the system turn on?

Also try releasing flea power. To release flea power, disconnect AC adapter, remove battery, disconnect all external peripherals (USB devices), press and hold power button for 30 seconds. Reconnect battery, AC adapter and turn on system. Was there any change?

Also is your system covered under warranty?

Let me know your findings.

Thank You

Thanks Rohan. All the issues are intermittent.

The LED of the system turns off, however the issue is intermittent. At times the LED is on and some times it's off.

I have tried releasing flee power however this does not help.

The system is not covered under warranty.

Here's the summary of the issue again.

The power turns off automatically while working.

The laptops does not get started and it's a matter of sheer luck when the system will work. The system work only 1 out of 20 times the power is switched on.

Also the numpad on the laptop does not work properly.

Regards,

Samir

Hi Samir,

In your situation, I would recommend to get the system checked by service technician, to isolate the faulty hardware. If you need help with Dell Expired Warranty Service or Dell Authorized Service Center contact information, please post your region.
