I'm facing the same problem...

I'm from Brazil, could anyone give a solution in portuguese too? Even a step-by-step teaching how to solve this?

I tried making what CyberMaxX360 said but i think im doing something wrong 'cause it's not working...

I'm sure im not the only one who expect a solution from Dell people. What may i do here with Dell Brazil?

Thanks

problem still not fixed even after updating bios. the Intel driver the site lists as for my machine when I try to install says incompatible even though it scanned my machine.

this is not acceptable everyone has this issue and dell are blaming everything and refusing to help.

can someone actually help?

I wont stop posting on this on any blog, forum, or social media until it is resolved.

The support by dell for this known issue encountered by many people has been nothing short of insulting.

way to treat your customers.

What can I say?

I  have just bought the 15R SE top moddel and have the same problem. the ati card does not work, neither in CCC or in Steam. It does not show in dxdiag.

If CCC in system tray, by right-click you get a menu where only one card is avaible:

1. Intel 4000 HD

There are no number 2 and no trace of the ati card.

I can select 'high performance' in CCC as much as i want, it has no effect.

The ATi card is not detected by System requirments lab-application.

Theese problems has been well known since 2012 and still Dell are pushing lap-tops which does not work.

Another thing, the system detect appliction at del web-site suggest that i update my bios to A09. It is allready installed from factory...

I have no intention of doing Dells work by spending endless evnings tracing the web for a solution to this.

Hi Guys, inspiron 15R 7520 Graphics problem SOLVED.

I have also purchased inspiron 15r 7520 special edition with AMD 7730M graphics card.

initially am very satisfied with the graphic performance. but when i started installing high graphics games such as Darksider II & Assassins Creed Revelations, i found that the graphics are not upto the mark for the games, and am not satisfied with the performance of the AMD card.

then came the issue of switchable graphics. when i put the game in high performance graphics in the AMD CCC, i am not able to play the game since the graphics DID NOT work. except the back ground in the game i am not able see the person with wich we r playing the game.

When i tried to report the issue to dell executives they follow their standard procedure of checking the power plan settings and the driver version. so if any newer version is available they ask you to install the latest version and try. but for me that didnt solve the problem.

Then i googled about the problem, read lot of posts in lots of forums. Found different kinds of applications but finally after a Day long struggle with all the possible sources.................

FOUND............................. the solution to the graphics problem.

The AMD card does not integrate with games thus it does allow us to change the settings of the game graphics in line with the graphics card. Instead what we have to do is,

Open the AMD CCC. Go to option called "3D Application settings" under the "Gaming" tab.

Select the drop down for "< >" and change the settings that are in that window. To know about the settings in detail please refer to internet. For ease of other users i am posting the settings used by me here:

1. Anti-Aliasing :

Dropdown: "Enhance Application Setting"

Morphological filtering : Uncheck

Filter : Standard

2. Anisotropic filtering

Use Application Settings : uncheck

Per Pixel Samples : 16X ( pull the slider to extreme right)

3. Tesselation

AMD Optimized : Uncheck

Use Application Settings : Uncheck

Level : 64X (Slider to extreme right)

4. Catalyst A.I.

Texture Filtering Quality: High Quality

Enable Surface Format Optimization : Check

5. Wait for Vertivcal refresh

On slider select the option that says "Off, Unless application specifies"

6. Anti-Aliasing mode

Super-sample AA (Slider to extreme right)

7. Open GL Settings

Triple Buffering: Uncheck

***********************

After completing the settings Click save beside the "< >" Dropdown. Then a file browser window will open.

Navigate to the folder where your game is installed and select the .exe file of the game.

Click Open.

Click Yes on the popup that follows.

Now run the game and VOILA...

For me the game really seemed nice and very pleasing for playing.

You can experiment with different combinations of the above mentioned settings to suite your requirements.

Hope this helped you.

Hi Guys,

I just manage to get my Starcraft 2 run in much acceptable condition on High setting than a few hours earlier. (saying this I though I can at least have a 60fps High setting...which is not happening)  I am glad I read this post, thanks a lot to Terry B and CyberMax.

I got my R15 SE 3 days ago, with all the trouble on the graphic cards. So this is what I did to try to solve this problem:

1. Uninstall both Intel and AMD graphic driver

2. Restart and have Power Plan on High Performance

3. Install AMD Driver pack from Dell support website, version : 8.951.9.1000_A04

4. Install AMD 13.3 Driver Beta from AMD official website and restart (you can skip this step and see if the following still works)

5. open CCC

6. On Power Tab > PowerPlay > Change both on battery and plug-in to Maximize Performance (I am not sure about battery yet, I tried pull the plug after I got better FPS and it seems ok)

7. There is a "Switchable Graphic Global Setting" if you install AMD 13.3 Driver Beta, I made them to Maximize Performance too. (Might be the key to all this trouble, but I can't confirm)

8. In "Switchable Graphic Application Setting", set your application to High Performance.

9. Got a better graphic on SC2....somehow.

The fps I got in SC2 is so terrible (6~15fps) in Low setting before I did this, now I get 30~38fps on High Setting, I think I can take it.

I still need a few test on other programs and big fight in Games, but now since SC2 is working in acceptable condition, I think at least it is not defect.

I just got this fixed 30min ago so I might come back with updates if I encounter anything weird...Hope this will help.

@Mouseii88 glad it's working for you, yes the newer AMD drivers have fixed a lot of problems with their "Enduro Technology" with better user control as you have found ;)

I do hope Dell is working on getting their drivers based on the current 13.1 WHQL AMD Reference Driver out themselves. It seems to be taking them a lot longer then I would have thought myself.

Cheers

@mouseii88, what is your AMD Graphic card series ? because for 13.3 beta drivers I see below series are compatible:

Link for 13.3 beta drivers:

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst13-3WINBetaDriver.aspx

AMD Product Compatibility:

  • AMD Radeon™ HD 7900 Series
  • AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
  • AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
  • AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series
  • AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series
  • AMD Mobility Radeon HD 7000M Series
  • AMD Mobility Radeon HD 6000M Series
  • AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series
For 15R I got 7670M graphic card. so above drivers are compatible with 7670 graphic card ?
Thanks,
Sai

@SAIKIRAN939 I got AMD Redeon HD 7730M, you can download it and give it a try, usually if it is incompatible it will halt installation process.

Device manager register it as "AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series", I am not sure about 7670M but might still work as "AMD Mobility Radeon HD 7000M Series"

Also create a recover point or download Dell driver in case it went wrong, Intel Graphic / Windows should still alive and you can replace 13.3 Beta.

Mind that it is "Beta" so I will assume the agreement includes something like "use at your own risk".

Hope this will help.

@SAIKIRAN939

Note the Difference on how AMD marks their Radeon HD series of cards

One series is listed as

AMD Radeon HD XXXX Series -  These are for Desktops,

Where as the others listed are marked

AMD Mobility Radeon HD XXXX Series - These are for Laptops

Also note how Laptop cards end with an M designator in their series mark  xxxxM

The 13.3 Beta driver linked above will work with your AMD 7670M  as it falls in the AMD Mobility Radeon HD 7XXXM Series that the driver supports.

If you are going to use the BETA drivers directly from AMD make sure you use the AMD Mobility Catalyst 13.3 Beta3 [for systems supporting AMD PowerXpress™ (Enduro) Technology] that's listed there, and not the other one marked AMD Catalyst 13.3 Beta3 for Windows as that is just for the Desktop Series of cards.

Take Mouseii88's advice to make a recovery point, have the latest Dell drivers in case you need them, and I would recommend if at all possible doing a full system backup just in case you need to do a full recovery.

Been reading here and there that some people are having issues with the Beta drivers, so you may want to just use the 13.1 WHQL Driver From AMD which is the latest stable version.  You can get the 13.1 WHQL AMD Drivers for Windows 7 64 bit and/or Windows 8 64 bit Directly from this link here.

Hello everybody !

I have read the full thread. As a Fs2004 user, I encountered the same problem of switching graphic card.

I installed fs2004 and it is working with Intel 4000 Embedded GPU (working not so good with high settings 20 fps)

My goal was to find a way to make fs working with HD7730m OFF COURSE !

I followed the instruction for installing the Leshcat catalyst (13.1 WHQL UniFL 2.1). Everything worked well and I was able to open and set up graphics via the amd catalyst.

problem encountered : when I add the fs9.exe (fs2004) as new 3D application in game menu of catalyst the catalyst is crashing with an error message then it is impossible to make it working again and off course fs is still running with intell4000. the only solution is to clean everything (via driver fusion and full unistall of AMD device) then install it again : back to the same problem.

Question : this crash may come from the 3D parameter set through the new application ? Or fs2004 too old then no more compatible ?

Remark : I did try different setup for the new 3D application and same result : catalyst crashing

If someone has an idea/suggestion/ etc... I would be glad to hear from him/her

Thanks a lot

Today I did exactly the same test with IL2 1946 : I have exactly the same issue : the catalyst is crashing when I add the il2.exe in 3D application.
