Hi..I am having the same problem with my Inspiron 3721. Just received it on Feb 27th & the fan runs constantly when I'm using it... is there any way around this? Or do I just have to wait for a fix from Dell?? I really love this laptop otherwise...any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi Heather,

For this issue BIOS update has been released on 4th March, Please download and install the same. Kindly provide me an update.

http://dell.to/QjjZDA

Please punch in the system service tag or express service code, under the BIOS category the latest BIOS is available version (A06).

Please connect the Ac Adapter while updating the BIOS and do not use the system once the update is initiated and until the system restarts completely.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply! I don't think I know how to do this update...is there any type of instructions? I've never done anything to do with BIOS before so I'm a little leery of doing this..

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Heather

Hi, I've been suffering from the same problem. Just wanted to know if the BIOS update really is the solution to the constantly running and noise of the fan. It's just that I sent an email through Dell's return link stating the problem and asking for either a refund or replacment, but if this does stop the noise and the fact that the fan stays on as long as the laptop has been on itself then there'd be no need in sending it back.

Thanks :) I've been stressing over it since the first day I tried my new laptop out. I'll be installing the BIOS update nice and early in the morning.
