Hi  udaynatt,

Issues like Power management oddities can be fixed in BIOS. Hence I suggest you to flash BIOS to the latest version from the link below:

http://dell.to/VK1u0d

Note: While flashing BIOS connect the Ac adapter and make sure the battery has minimum 15% charge as this needs uninterrupted power supply. Do not use the system till it restarts and comes up to the desktop.
Also update the video driver from the below given link:

http://dell.to/13Vibe9

Restart the system and check. Revert to this post for further queries.

I've already flashed the BIOS with latest version, i did that when my quickset button stopped working.

That button issue was resolved.

But this display problem persisted before that and after that as well.

Restart the system and check. If the issue persists, I recommend you to create a new user profile and check.

Revert with the status for further assistance.

I hadn't experienced any blacking problems for sometime after updating display drivers, but it has happened again.

Also, the new updated nVidia 3DVision drivers have brought up a new issue:

I always keep my monitor refresh rate at 120Hz.

Before updating, whenever i enabled the 'Stereoscopic 3D' option to watch 3D Movies, the brightness of my screen was locked to about 70%, and i couldn't change the brightness of display unless i turned off the 'stereoscopic 3D' option from nVidia control panel.

But after updating, no matter whether i enable or disable the 3D option, brightness is always locked to 70%. although i can move the brightess sliders but it doesn't affect the actual screen brightness. The only way to enable the high brightness of screen is to reduce the refresh rate to 60Hz, or create a custome resolution with 119Hz refresh rate.

But the main problem is, 3D light-boost is not working properly. I mean, the 3D glasses usually reduce the intensity when they're turned on, so screen has to be brighter when playing 3D content. But in my case, it is always brought down to 70%, and i can't change it to 100% when in 3D mode.

Also, when this 'brightness-lock' happens, there is slight flickering even in 120Hz mode. (although that can only be noticed by shaking hand against screen and seeing the strobe-effect). When the brightness-lock is not there, there is no backlight flicker even at 60Hz.

So all i want is following:
-Explanation of why this brightness problem occurs and way to over-ride the brightness settings in 3D-mode.
I don't mind if the brightness is locked in 3D-mode. But it should be at 100% full brightness, not 70-80%.
-The solution to my lid-blackout issue which i explained earlier.
