Hey there,

I've been having the same problem, too. I did your last step and I rechecked my webcam performance and it's still not working. 'Imaging Device' still isn't showing on Managing Devices, too.

Do you have any solutions?

Thank you!

Hi msusalla,

Resetting the System Setup (BIOS) to its Default Settings:

Option 1:

Reboot the computer.
When prompted during POST, press the key to enter the setup screen.
On the System Setup screen, press the key to move to the Exit menu.
Press the key until  Load Optimized Defaults is highlighted.
Press the key on Yes to Load Optimized Defaults and restart the computer.

Option 2:

Reboot the computer.
When prompted during POST, press the key to enter the setup screen.
On the System Setup screen, press the key.
Press the key on Yes to Load Optimized Defaults and restart the computer.

Run diagnostics on the webcam. Below mentioned link would help you with the diagnostics on Webcamera:

http://dell.to/NI55sF

From the above link, select “component”, select Camera and run diagnostics.

If the diagnostics passes Uninstall/reinstall webcam central from the below mentioned link:

Uninstall:

To uninstall the Dell webcam central software, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Click Control Panel.
  3. Using the drop-down menu next to View by: in the upper-right corner, select Large Icons.
  4. Click Programs and Features.
  5. Click Dell Webcam Central.
  6. Click Uninstall.
  7. Confirm the uninstall process by clicking OK.

Once uninstalled restart the computer.

I did all of those instructions and still, no avail.

I uninstalled the webcam central, and when I clicked your link at the bottom, I installed that. When I click the link from my down loads, it shows up to "Zip" the files, and when I do "Zip" them, I have "successfully unziped 347 files" What does that mean?

My diagnoses for the web camera is that "I do not have the device". Does this mean I should take my computer apart and see if my web cam is connected still?

Thank you so much for your help- I'm regretful that it didn't work, either!

Megan

Hi msusalla,

I would be glad to arrange for a service on the computer if the computer is under warranty.

I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button.

I am sending you a private message as well. Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide system’s Service Tag and contact details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action. You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message.

In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to extend warranty entitled services.

If the warranty on the computer has expired, below link would help you in contacting expired warranty services (this is for US based customers):

Awaiting your response!
