Hey,

I have a dell inspiron n5010, windows 8, 64bit. I have already enabled the bluetooth in the bios (i did not have to change it, it was enabled already), i installed the 2 programs mentioned above, but during the installation of  the Broadcom Bluetooth Update I had problems. The installation could not detect my bluetooth. What should I do in this case?

Is the Bluetooth working with just the Dell driver?

Contrary to what is stated at the beginning of this thread, the Broadcom software won't work for Dell Wireless 360 Bluetooth module on Windows 8, because this module uses a Toshiba chipset.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any satisfying solution for Dell Wireless 360 on Windows 8. So far I installed the Windows 7 drivers R231570 on a Vostro 1310 and a 1510 with Windows 8 32-bit. While in this configuration the R231570 software allows the Bluetooth to work fine and also to provide activation and deactivation of the Bluetooth module by mouse click (as known from Windows 7/Vista/XP), it leaves following error at every reboot of Windows 8:

Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer?

program: instdev

publisher: toshiba

origin: hard disk

location: c/program files/toshiba/bluetooth toshiba stack/instdev.exe /btsrv rereg

While the answer "yes" or "no" doesn't seem to make any difference to the correct function of Bluetooth, it is still annoying.

Any ideas, how I could get rid of this repeating error?

Thanks for the clarification I have sorted the above to remove the confusion.

I also got a 360 module from eBay and put it in my Latitude D820 I confirmed the same findings as you.

The Toshiba driver direct from Toshiba http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download-toshiba

Doesn't have this error however it says something about a 30 day evaluation only on the icon to the bottom right.

I see no other mention of evaluation so I am not sure what will happen after the 30 days.

I am looking for it and haven't found anything yet.

Attempt installation of the 1501 Windows 8 driver. Can you provide me the hardware ID of the card from the Device Manager?

Yours will be an Intel Adapter not a Dell Wireless one:

http://ftp.dell.com/Pages/Drivers/xps-l502x.html#Network

Check what the hardware IDs of your wireless card and Bluetooth adapter are to do this get to Device Manager by pressing [Windows] and [ e ] then select properties then Device Manager. Right click the unknown device or network cards and select properties then select details and hardware IDs.

see Windows Reinstallation Guide/page 124 (bottom half) - 125:

I have a Dell Studio XPS 1645 with the Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Minicard (Broadcom). Bluetooth worked fine in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. After upgrading to Windows 8 then 8.1, Bluetooth did not work. There was not even Bluetooth listed in Device Manager. I followed the instructions by Beg2k1 and after installing the Lenovo software Bluetooth showed up in Device Manager. Then I was able to update using Broadcom's Windows 8.1 installer. Thank you.... working good so far. Mike Spain

On Windows 7 x64 with Dell 375 module, that driver (h0wz03ww.exe)  fails with the message:

"Setup has detected an imcompatible version of Windows"

Where can I get a Bluetooth 4.0 driver for the 375 module for Win7 x64?

I have a problem with Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card on my Dell Studio 1735 and windows 8.1.

My computer see all the wi-fi networks but cannot connect to any of them.

Is there available any new versions of driver? Now I have 5.100.245.200 (14.03.2012).

Similarly, for Dell Latitude E6430s, which has Dell 380 Bluetooth 4.0 Module, thanks to Lenovo again...

Direct download for Windows 7 drivers for this Broadcom device (did not need to try the Win8/8.1 drivers though): http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/h0wv09ww.exe

Details page: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-edge-e430/downloads/DS028704

This successfully let me use the Microsoft Arc Touch Surface Edition bluetooth mouse in Windows 7

The original Dell drivers 6.5.1.2321 dated 13/02/2012 did not work.  Lenovo drivers were 6.5.1.4103.

I first tried to use the Broadcom update at: http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php, but that didn't work... thank you for everyone's help here.
