I purchased an XPS 13 in July 2012.  For the past few months I have also had the blue screen issue and a message popping up stating that this battery is not recommended for this system.  In June of this year I contacted customer support online and was told I could only use phone support.  I tried getting in touch with phone support to no avail and then had a medical emergency.  I have now been told that my limited warranty expired and I need a new battery.

Hi Kolivia,

I am sorry for the inconvenience, try running the hardware diagnostics by tapping the F12 key on a few times during startup until you see the ‘One Time Boot Menu’ appear.

At the one time boot menu, press the down arrow key to highlight ‘Diagnostics’, and then press Enter to begin the hardware diagnostics.

If the test fails, please make a note of any error codes listed. You can also refer to the link below.
