If the system has an LED backlight (which is what it sounds), part of the LED array has failed - you will need to replace the screen.

Okay that's easy enough, but I have been informed by the customer that it has been replaced before, maybe two years ago...
Is the frequency of the screen replacement cause for a bigger concern?
