Request you go to device manger, if the monitor is displayed as generic monitor, right click on it and select update drivers.

Also let me if the monitor is having any issues with the display.

Update to what? If Dell does not make an XP driver for the U2412M, there will be nothing to update to. I'm using XP/SP3 - and have no intention of downgrading to a bloated memory hog like Windows 7. Is there an older driver, for example, the one for the U2410, which can be used for the U2412 with a 1920x1200 screen?

Have you unpacked and loaded the file you presented in Windows XP? From where the file originate? The only driver I can find for the U2412M is NOT for XP?
