1703FPt Monitor will not work with DVI cable

Question

I have a problem similar to the one posted by 'ewrayjr' on 2/27/04. I have a 1703FPt Digital Flat Panel monitor connected to a Dimension 4600i with a 128MB DDR NVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card (which was installed by Dell).  The monitor will work only with the analog (blue connectors) cable.  When the DVI cable (white connectors) is used, the monitor is blank except for an Analog Input Self Test Feature Check box slowly 'floating' around the screen. I contacted Dell Technical Support.  After trying several fixes and pushing the button on the front of the monitor in all possible combinations, no solution was found. I tried reloading the monitor driver that came with the system, but it still operates only in analog. Any suggestions?? TiminDen

Looks like the same problem I have - I am still waiting for Dell to sort it but I think the monitor is at fault.

Check out the thread titled 1800FP stuck in .....   The thread applies equally to 1703 and 1901 flat panels.
