I had my 1st replacement sent last week. Though the light bleeding is alot better compared to my original screen. but the yellow glow on the left corner and the white glow in the right corner are still noticeable during dark background situations.

so i decided to live with it, because i believe my current screen is the best as it gets. and i'm still not satisfied but im not going to waste my time being on the phone and get replacements that will have the same issues.

Dell please revise this monitor!!!!! the U2713H version is now on rev A01, why can't you do the same to the HM version

FWIW, my U3014 is perfect in this regard (probably different technology.)  I realize it's half again as much money but I just want to let people know there is an alternative.  I'm not saying it's palatable just that it exists.

I'm rather appalled by both the policy and the attitude I'm seeing here and elsewhere in this forum.  Too much stress perhaps with the whole corporate thing up in the air and not wanting to land.

To be honest, I'm starting to get used to the backlight issues. I shouldn't which is why I'm sending my unit back for a refund. This is crazy that Dell is basically saying "deal with it" rather than revise their unit or assist their customers in receiving quality exchanges.

Corporate issues or not, the bottom line is customers. Our expectations they set by their model lines and prices aren't being reasonably met.

I just received my third U2713HM (Feb 2013 manufacture date) and it is exactly the same...  I will be talking to support again today...

I will admit that when just using for Internet browsing (mostly lighter backgrounds) I love this monitor, but playing any game or video that is "darker" basically overlays a yellow bottom left corner that is very noticeable in games like Far Cry 3 or Minecraft (mining or caving).

I was wondering to myself if these monitors have been on sale lately as they have a quality issue with them and just want to move them??? $200 reductions on price seem a bit odd especially if they happen frequently...  All purely speculation on my part....

Here's a shot from a different camera, the bottom left is exactly the same as the other monitors I have received even if it doesn't look as bad in this photo.

Yes your Dell U2713HM has a yellow backlight left corners and white backlight right corners. That is what I`m getting at with the issues I`m having as well. Unfortunately your images reflect that off colour backlight pattern.

So Dell balls in your court!

Here is another photo of my son playing Minecraft with a moderately lit room (daylight)... notice the "yellow-ish" bottom left/top left corners and the "white-ish"  bottom right/top right corners....

Totally not acceptable...  What's the point of making sure the middle 2 inches of the monitor are "acceptable" when that only represents a very small portion of the monitor viewing area...

I have the same issues with backlight bleed on each of the bottom corners. When I play games or view other darker objects the bottom of the screen totally gets washed out by the backlighting. As dell said if its within a 25% range of the middle then it's passable. I don't care what type of production environment this unit is tested in. The Backlight should be  uniform for a monitor of this price. Instead we're told to deal with it. I don't accept that $800 for a display should have this type of backlighting issue.

Keep the discussion on topic. This discussion is for backlighting issues only.  If you have any other issues then open a new thread and dont hijack this one.  Thanks.

If there are others with backlighting issues on their Dell U2713HM then please post here with pictures. There has to be more people with this issue.  A yellow backlight on the corner of your display that obscures your viewing isnt acceptable.

"ultrapixel" has a U2713H not a U2713HM, wrong thread all together I think.  They have different panels from what I have read and there is no USB reader on the U2713HM only the U2713H.

Mod please move ultrapixels posts to somewhere appropriate and delete this post.
