WiFi problem with Inspiron 15 3521

Hi I have just purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 3521 and there seems to be a problem with the WiFi as it will disconnect regularly for no reason. It is not the router as I have other Laptops and they don't disconnect and so I think it may be a problem with the Laptop. Does anyone else suffer from this problem?

Thanks

Saharsh,

I am experiencing the same problem. I  internet access breaks every few minutes. I disconnect my wireless network and connect it again, it works but drops again after couple of minutes.

I have Dell Inspiron 15 .....windows 8.

I tried the steps you suggested to someone.  You asked to change 802.1h1h+d to Strict 11h ....but I don't see any option to chnage. Also I don't see afterburner anywhere....may be its for another model #.

Please help ASAP.

Thanks

I have a Inspiron 3521 laptop  which also does not connect to the internet and it is not a fault with thw router as other devices are connected to it and are accessing the net.

I have the same problem, and it is very frustrating.  I have my old Dell Inspiron 1505E with xp, and it never does this.  I am new to computers, so this is hard for me.  I get limited access with yellow warning triangle over the bars and can't connect.  Sometimes it drops every minute, like tonight.  This morning not so bad.  Dell has to know about this problem and should fix it.  I would love to take this computer back, but I'm sure another one will do the same thing.

I tried this settings in my dell inspiron 3521 laptop and it fixed the wifi issue. Thanks a lot Saharsh and Dell Support. I have been facing this issue for almost a year... luckily i found this answer few days back. it would be great if Dell optimizes the driver or provide support with these steps in the mydell application itself.

try bridging your network adapters on your laptop.  go to the control panel and you know where in networking and while the connection is active just select both adapters and right click and select bridge connection.

"There can only be one!"

Inspiron 3521, Windows 8.1

I opened the wireless card properties but I don't see any place where I can make the suggested changes.

I tried all the software solutions but didn't help even after I had all the right version and settings.  So I opened up the laptop (we were past warantee and would have cost the same amount we spent for the laptop to have someone take a look at it), disconnected and reconnected the wifi network card/adpater (there are video instructions on the internet), and afterward haven't had any problem since.  Something must have gone loose.  The model we have the card was under the keyboard.

Thanks. I can create a wifi which also shows up as a network in my mobile phone. However, it is not connected to my internet network. In network and sharing centre, it appears as a separate network icon.

Also, which setting within the properties of network adapters should I go to make each change as suggested by "DELL-Saharsh K"? E.g., how do I change 802.11h+d to Strict 11h?

In adapter properties, it reads "Dell 1705 802.11b/g n (2.4 GHZ)". This cannot be changed. Should I then to go to Advanced settings, ot should I go somewhere else.

Sample of suggested changes from DELL-Saharsh K

  • Expand Network Adapters, right click the wireless card and choose Properties
  • Make the following changes
    • Change 802.11h+d to Strict 11h
