24" monitors do not get a service tag number. Only the 27" and larger get one.

* Open the Monitor FAQ
* Open, "Monitor Warranties"
* Read the section on, "Shelf-Stock or Online Retailer monitor ownership"

Read it and maybe I misunderstood. I ended up calling Dell trying to register the monitor for warranty. They said its not needed and if a issue comes up with it. Call them at that time and they will take care of it. Does this sound right? Would I have to send them a copy of my receipt or something? She kept mentioning they go off the ppid number....

Thanks for staying on top of it and trying to help me. At the same time. This is pretty crazy. Why does Dell not allow people to register online and upload their invoice for proof of purchase? It would be so much easier.
