Hi SunHD,

I request you to check if by any chance the touchpad was disabled. If it is disabled, the LED indicator comes up just above the touchpad. To disable or enable the touchpad, press ‘Fn’ + F3 key.

I also request you to check the touchpad settings. To check click ‘Start’ > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound and then double click Dell Touchpad to open the application. This application has the options to configure Sensitivity, Buttons, Scroll and Zoom Gestures.

Please revert with the status for further assistance.

Hi SunHD,

I request you to update the drivers in the order given below:

BIOS: http://dell.to/TJ8o3x

Quickset: http://dell.to/WsQDaX

Touch Pad: http://dell.to/Wp7IjX

While flashing BIOS connect the Ac adapter and make sure the battery has minimum 15% charge as this needs uninterrupted power supply. Do not use the system till it restarts and comes up to the desktop.  Restart the system after each driver installation.

I also suggest you to open the touch pad application and click ‘Scroll & Zoom’ and check if it is turned on. Check the same for Gestures as shown in the picture below:

Please revert for further assistance.

I checked all of my drivers and they are up to date. I checked if it was enabled and it was. Any more suggestions?

Hi SunHD,

I understand that the drivers are up-to-date, However I would still request you to update the drivers in the order given in the post. In case the issue persists I request you run the test on the Touchpad. Restart the system and at the Dell logo keep taping the F12 key every 2 seconds. This will start the One-time boot menu. Using arrow keys select ‘Diagnostics’ and hit enter. This will run quick test without waiting for your input. To select a specific test, you can either wait till the quick test completes or press Esc. Next a list of test available will be displayed. Please select Touchpad and click Run test. Please reply with the status of the test to assist you further.
