My ethernet cord does not read on my Dell Inspiron Duo Laptop

Question

I recently used my ethernet cord to play xbox live, But All of a Sudden my Dock will not read the ethernet cord and I have tried 4 so I am sure it is not the cords. I have done everything they say  to do but can not figure out anything, I used the same cord few days before and everything worked great but now it will not connect. I plug the cord into my 'messed up' computer and The Orange light comes on.If anyone can throw out some suggestions that would be great.
