Obtained correct Dell network drivers from Dell web site .... put these onto a USB stick ... inserted stick into laptop with problems ... extracted these driver files ... went into Device Manager and reinstalled these drivers for the network controllers ... rebooted and all was fine getting online ... was then able to update the remaining VGA drivers etc online ... sorted - thank you all...

Thanks seen this ... I just inserted the disk and let it do the rest :)

Everything apart from the network devices appears to be working correctly...

When I systematically go through the devices when running the Dell app on the disk, it extracts the drivers but then errors saying for example DELL WIRELESS 1515 ADAPTER DEVICE NOT FOUND ... this is on a laptop that was working perfectly last week and connecting via wifi... clearly something Im missing...

Windows Vista Home Premium SP1

On the device manager screen a yellow exclamation mark appears next to some of the devices including the ethernet and network controllers.  When you click on for example the ethernet controller it says "Manufacturer Unknown" and location PCI bus 9 ... and thats it...

In response to the earlier advice to install the drivers in order ... I have inserted the driver disk, and gone to the System Software option it advises should be installed first... did the extract and install following the instructions, rebooted the laptop and it still appears without a tick on the Dell driver utility...

Thought this rebuild would be painless and easy .... :(

Many thanks for help and advice....

Hi Entsal,

Let me know the system model and the operating system installed on the system.

Please ensure that you install the correct wireless driver.

If possible, please provide me the screenshot of the device manager. To open Device Manager, please perform the steps mentioned below:

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties
2. Select the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager

Thanks & Regards
